Nissan Pathfinder offers buyers.
Â
What's New for 2024?
For the 2024 model year, Nissan's mid-size SUV continues with little changes to be seen from last year, with Nissan seeing fit not to make any drastic changes to the redesign seen in 2022, which saw the Pathfinder boasting a new rugged exterior, enhanced cabin space, optimal second-row captain's chairs and greater AWD capability.  ÂThe 2024 model carries over the choice of five
grades from last year: the base S, SV, Rock Creek, SL and Platinum.Â
Â
Spacious Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder features a modern truck-like cabin design kitted out with comfortable seats for front passenger and driver alike. Ergonomically placed controls mean a comfortable journey for front occupants. Standard fitment sees three rows of seats able to accommodate up to eight passengers. Â ÂBuyers have been given the option of swapping
the standard second-row bench seat for nifty captain's chairs, a nicety for any
family crossover vehicle that does. However, in doing so, it sacrifices the
eighth passenger's space to make for a comfortable seven-seater.
 Â
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder offers handy
integrated storage cubbies throughout the cabin, which include a large bin
below the center console easily accessible by the driver or front-seat
passenger. With multiple storage areas such as bins and pockets for belongings,
long-distance travel becomes enjoyable.
 Â
The lower S and SV trim levels receive cloth
seat trim as standard, while leather-appointed seating is standard on the SL
trim level. Moving up the range to the Platinum trim level sees the fitment of
quilted, semi-aniline leather seating. Luxury features like heated and ventilated
front seats, as well as a panoramic sunroof, are included depending on the trim
level.
 Â
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder helps with cargo
loading with its easy-folding EZ Flex seating, allowing the second and
third-row seats to open up a cavernous cargo space of 80.5 cubic feet along
with a maximum floor area of 79.8 inches by 48.8 inches. The optional
motion-activated liftgate helps make your cargo loading even easier.
 Â
Convenient, easy-to-clean under-floor storage
allows for storage of items out of sight for enhanced security with the benefit
of less clutter in the cabin. Â
Robust Exterior
With the redesign for 2022, the exterior of the Pathfinder saw the continuation of the unibody platform construction but with more squared-off styling cues taken from previous generations, along with hints of Nissan's Rogue and Armada models.  ÂExterior dimensions measure a total length of
197.7 inches, 77.9 inches wide and 70.9 inches high, with a wheelbase of 114.2
inches, allowing the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder to be fitted with its three rows of
seating.
 Â
Standard fitment across the range includes LED
headlights with LED daytime running and LED taillights, UV-reducing solar glass
and rear privacy glass, as well as a rear spoiler. All Pathfinder models are
equipped with alloy wheels ranging from 18 to 20 inches.
 Â
For buyers who will use their vehicle for
occasional off-road trail use, the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder boasts a ground
clearance of 7.1 inches, along with its approach angle of 16.1 degrees and a
departure angle of 21.1 degrees.
Â
Powertrain, Performance, and Off-Road Capability
The 2024 Nissan Pathfinder includes a 3.5-liter, 24-valve direct injection gasoline V-6, but Nissan replaced the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with a new nine-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. Â ÂThis power unit produces 284 horsepower @ 6400
rpm and 259 foot-pounds of torque @ 4800 rpm in most grades, but the Rock Creek
trim sees peak power output pushed up to 295 horsepower @ 6400 rpm and 270
foot-pounds of torque @ 4800 rpm.
 Â
Front-wheel drive is standard, but buyers can
equip all grades of Pathfinder with the available all-wheel drive system. Choosing
the all-wheel drive upgrade also adds seven drive and terrain modes accessible
through a dial selector featuring more off-road focused drive modes such as
sand and the mud / rut mode.
 Â
Off-road articulation is aided by the use of
independent strut front suspension, and at the rear, the independent multi-link
rear suspension does duty. Choosing the all-wheel drive Rock Creek models sees
off-road tuned suspension as standard.Â
 Â
The standard towing capability of all models
is 3,500 pounds, but with options, this jumps to a maximum of 6,000 pounds.
Â
Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
All 2024 Nissan Pathfinder models are fitted standard with a comprehensive arsenal of safety and driver-assistance features. Â ÂStandard safety fitment includes Nissan's
Advanced Air Bag System with dual-stage supplemental front air bags coupled
with seat belt and occupant-classification sensors, seat-mounted side-impact
supplemental air bags for front- and rear-seat outboard occupants, plus driver
and front-passenger supplemental knee airbags and rollover sensor activated
roof-mounted curtain airbags.
 Â
Driver assistance features abound, such as
automated emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high-beam
headlamps. Nissan includes its semi-autonomous Pro PilotAssist driving mode as a standard feature on the SV,
SL, and Platinum trims.
Â
Infotainment and Connectivity
The standard infotainment in the 2024 Nissan Pathfinder is an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen running the latest version of the Nissan Connect software interface. Moving up the range to the SL and Platinum trims adds a larger 9.0-inch display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard, with Apple CarPlay being synced wirelessly on upper trim levels.  ÂAll trims see a six-speaker stereo fitment as
standard, with a 13-speaker Bose system optional.
The range-topping Platinum model sees a
12.3-inch gauge cluster screen, head-up display, and 13-speaker Bose premium
audio included.
 Â
Fuel Economy and MPG
EPA fuel economy figures for the 2024 Nissan
Pathfinder are 21 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined for all
front-wheel drive models and 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined
for the optional all-wheel drive models.
