Sure, there can be a special level of excitement in purchasing a brand new vehicle. But the truth is, a well-cared for used Nissan Pathfinder provides just as smooth of a ride as new model.

If you are ready to comfortably transport up to seven passengers and their gear without making the transition to a minivan, the Pathfinder may catch your interest.

This model's re-design mimics a true crossover between a car and an SUV while previous models were true SUVs situated on a truck platform.

With its comfortable suspension, spacious and well-made cabin and its capabilities to lower the seats, the Pathfinder is not only eye-catching, but it is also a practical and cost-effective transportation option.

Performance and Safety

The Pathfinder's suspension combined with its light and precise steering makes for a smooth and stable ride on the payment. Off-road handling, though, is not this vehicle's strong suit, although this seldom proves a difficulty for most drivers interested in a Pathfinder.

A 3.5-liter V6 engine powers the 2015 vehicle. Its continuously variable transmission (CVT) system has also been upgraded and performs simulated shifts that mimic those of a traditional automatic. The 2015 model comes with the option of either front wheel drive or all-wheel (also called four-wheel drive).

The 2015 Pathfinder was designed to handle slick and snowy weather, and you can drive assured that the all-wheel drive system will keep you safe no matter how quickly the weather conditions change. With the simple flip of a switch from inside your vehicle, you can lock power distribution in a 50/50 front to rear ratio. This feature is particularly helpful on hills in slick driving conditions. Whichever drive system you choose, any type of Pathfinder-when properly equipped-can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

For its size and type, the Pathfinder is an efficient vehicle. The EPA-estimated rating of the front wheel drive Pathfinder is 20 city miles and 27 highway miles for a combined mpg of 23. The all-wheel drive model achieves 19 city miles and 26 highway miles (22 mpg combined).

While some cars in its class received a higher safety score than the Pathfinder's respectable rating of 9.3 out of 10 stars, the Pathfinder is among the safest vehicles on the road. In fact, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety(IIHS) identified the 2015 Pathfinder as a Top Safety Pick, giving it the highest safety score of "Good" in all five areas tested. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also assigned a perfect five-star rating to the 2015 Pathfinder.

All of the 2015 Pathfinders include driver airbags, passenger airbags, front and rear head airbags, 4-wheel disc brakes, a brake assist system, electronic stability control, child safety locks, and traction control system. Most all of the Pathfinders come equipped with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. The SL and Platinum Trim Packages also feature blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, and Nissan's 360-degree camera systems.

Interior

Whatever your purpose for climbing behind the wheel of your car-running errands, carting the kids, their friends and respective gear, or commuting-you will undoubtedly be struck by the attractive, high-quality look of the cabin whether you own the car months, weeks or years.

What's more is that nobody will be fighting to ride shotgun in the 2015 Pathfinder since the second and third row seats are just as comfortable and supportive as the front seats.

The second row can slide front, back, or recline and can even be adjusted when a car seat is in place, which eliminates the frustrating chore of uninstalling the car seat in order to get people in the third row.

Admittedly, the storage space between the third row and the back door is not as spacious as the Pathfinder's competitors. However, it does include 16 cubic feet of space, which is sizeable. When both the second and third row seats are folded flat, 79.6 cubic feet of space is created.

So throw the kids and the dogs and some gear in the car and hit the road for the next vacation, practice or sporting event in style. And don't forget, the Pathfinder was designed for you to throw bikes on the top and/or haul a boat or trailer behind you.

Adventure, affordability, comfort, and style all await you in this 2015 Pathfinder.
