Finally ready to make the leap to an electric vehicle? Aching to experience the cutting-edge driver assist features? More interested in efficiency and value than expensive stylistic details?

The 2018 Nissan Leaf provides the answers to these questions and so much more. This year's version has undergone a comprehensive re-work including a larger battery capacity, additional power and enhanced driver assist features (also called ProPilot Assist).

In fact, the 2018 model achieves 150 miles of range which is significantly more than comparable vehicles such as the Volkswagen e-Golf. Whoever thought being environmentally conscious had to come at the cost of convenience and affordability had obviously never heard of the Nissan Leaf.

Drivers concerned that the 2018 Leaf could never function as a family vehicle will be thrilled to learn that not only do the wide doors and near-horizontal roofline enables easy access to children fastened into car seats, but the generous amount of backseat room easily accommodates a rear-facing car seat. The tri-top above anchor system is easily accessible. The car seat anchors embedded in the seat are more difficult to access. However, whichever car seat anchor is preferred, operator can drive with the knowledge that children are also in a safe environment.

From its level of comfort and  the smoothness of the ride to its unique braking system, the Leaf deftly combines technology with safety and efficiency. And thanks to the inherent quiet of the vehicle's electric propulsion system, you can enjoy a ride that is as serene as fishing in a mountain creek or participating in a yoga class.

When deciding whether an electric vehicle is right for them, consumers often inquire whether there is an excess warm-up phase to access heat. And the answer is no, you do not have to wait longer. Obviously use the heating system will negatively impact the range for the charge on the vehicle. However, a primary upgrade from the 2017 model was the larger battery. Therefore, the range in the 2018 model will not be impacted as severely as it would with a smaller battery.
