2023 Nissan Pathfinder

If you're looking for an outstanding three-row SUV to take you off-road or to take you and your family down the street, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is an outstanding option for you to check out.

It has tons of standard safety features, top-of-the-line technologies, and if you go with the all-new Rock Creek trim level it has premium off-road capabilities. But what else can you expect from the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder and is it the right choice for you? Keep reading to find out.

What's New for 2023?

While there might not be a ton new for most 2023 Nissan Pathfinders, if you're looking for something you simply can't find in a 2022 model you want the all-new Rock Creek trim level.

This all-new trim features a lifted suspension system, 18" all-terrain tires on all-new wheels, an updated front grille, lower bumpers, unique badging, and standard all-wheel drive. Additionally, Nissan beefed up the V6 engine a bit, getting it to push up to 295 horsepower!

On the inside of the Rock Creek trim level you'll find cloth and vinyl upholstery with trim-specific orange stitching that really helps set it apart from other 2023 Nissan Pathfinders out there.

Another notable change across the entire lineup is that the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder ditches the CVT transmission that comes in the 2022 models in favor of a nine-speed automatic transmission. The new transmission provides a smoother ride from start to finish.

Interior Design and Features

A standard 2023 Pathfinder has enough seats for eight people, but you have the option to swap out the bench seating in the second row for two captain seats. This drops the overall seating capacity to seven, but it opens up a little more space for passengers in the second row.

Meanwhile no matter what configuration you go with there are tons of integrated storage cubbies throughout the interior. This helps turn the vehicle into an outstanding family SUV with enough storage space for snacks, electronics, and everything else you can think of!

Finally, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder has 16.6 cubic feet of storage space behind the third-row seats. And when you fold down the seats you open up an impressive 80.5 cubic feet of storage space, more than enough for any sports gear or anything else you need to haul.

Nissan Pathfinder Performance

While a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder isn't going to win the Daytona 500, for an eight-seater SUV it doesn't lack in the power department. It features a powerful engine that can take you from 00 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.6 or 6.7 seconds for the front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models respectively.

It also can easily top 100 miles per hour, making it more than fast enough for any kind of driving you're going to do on the street.

Nissan Pathfinder Powertrain

Whether you go with the base-level trim or get one that's fully loaded, it all comes with the same 3.5L V-6 engine. In every trim level but the Rock Creek trim the engine pushes 284 horsepower. With the Rock Creek trim it's just a bit more powerful, upping the horsepower mark to 295.

Front-wheel drive comes standard across the lineup, but you can upgrade to an all-wheel drive system at any trim level. It doesn't have all that much of an impact on performance, but it does make it a little easier to get traction during inclement weather.

Safety Features

When it comes to outstanding safety features, Nissan doesn't leave anything out with the 2023 Pathfinder. Every Pathfinder comes standard with a blindspot monitoring system, lane departure warnings, a backup camera, and even an automated emergency braking system with pedestrian detection!

Meanwhile, higher trim levels have the option to tack on a semi-autonomous driving mode, and you can upgrade to get an adaptive cruise control feature. The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is crammed full of high-end safety features to help keep you and everyone else on the road safe!

Technology Features in the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder

No matter what trim level you go with, the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder comes loaded with top-notch technological features. Every 2023 Pathfinder comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, a backup camera, and an 8" infotainment system (with higher trim levels coming with a 9" system).

Additionally, every 2023 Pathfinder comes with at least a 6-speaker sound system, and higher trim levels get a 13-speaker Bose sound system.

Other features that come with higher trim levels include a Wi-Fi hotspot, heated rear seats, a wireless smartphone charging pad, and a 360-degree camera system.

Fuel Economy

The exact fuel economy you can expect to get with a 2023 Nissan Pathfinder all depends on the exact trim level you go with. Every 2-wheel-drive model gets 20 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 23 combined mpg, while most four-wheel-drive models get 21 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and a combined 23 mpg.

However, this is for most four-wheel-drive trim levels. The Rock Creek trim level gets 20 mpg in the city, 23 mpg on the highway, and a combined 21 mpg. Meanwhile, the Platinum four-wheel drive 2023 Pathfinder gets 20 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined.

Nissan Pathfinder Trim Levels and Pricing

The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder comes in five different trim levels and the exact features you can expect in each one depends on the trim level you go with. We've gone over each trim and some of the highlights each one offers for you here.

S

The S trim level might be the base trim level for the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder, but with everything it offers it doesn't feel like a base trim level. For starters, it comes with a 3.5L DOHC 24-valve direct injection gasoline engine mated with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

It also includes a tri-zone automatic temperature control system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and top-of-the-line safety features. And the MSRP starts at just $35,200!

SV

The SV is just one step up from the S trim level, and it takes the MSRP to $38,020. But for the extra money you get heated front seats, intelligent blind spot intervention systems, an intelligent lane intervention system, and a 10-way power driver's seat with 2-way power lumbar support.

Rock Creek®

The Rock Creek trim level is all-new for the 2023 model year, and it comes with some features you can't find in any other trim level or any other model year! You get a higher off-road suspension system, 18" all-terrain tires, an intelligent surround view monitor, exclusive badging, and a trim-specific interior among many other great features.

The Rock Creek trim level is one of the only trim levels you can only get in four-wheel drive and the MSRP starts at $43,020.

SL

The SL is the trim level that almost runs concurrently with the Rock Creek package. The four-wheel drive trim level costs a smidge more at $43,520, but the two-wheel drive version costs less at $41,620.

Key features at this trim level include leather-front seats, a heated steering wheel, a wireless charger, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Platinum

The Platinum trim level is the top trim level available for the 2023 Nissan Pathfinder, and it comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect with a top-of-the-line package. The wheels are upgraded to 20", there are heated and cooled front seats, a panoramic moonroof, a heads-up display, a Bose premium 13-speaker sound system, a tow hitch, and so much more at this trim level.

The Platinum trim level's MSRP starts at $48,170 for the two-wheel drive version and $50,070 for the all-wheel drive option.
