What's New for 2023?

The Nissan Maxima continues the 2023 model year as their flagship full-size sedan. Nissan refers to this model as a "4-door sports car".

For 2023 the Maxima is available in six exterior color options along with three trim levels: SV, SR, and Platinum.

Luxurious Interior Design

State-of-the-art design found in the Maxima features classic luxury touches allied with advanced technology. These are combined to offer the driver and passengers a unique luxurious cabin environment that is personalizable just for you.

Maxima's sport-styled Zero Gravity Seats with deep bolsters help keep the driver firmly planted whilst cornering in any spirited driving situation. These seats offer a natural, neutral seating position which helps reduce driver fatigue.

Both the driver and front passenger are further pampered with the climate-controlled front seats offering both individual heating and cooling at the turn of a knob. Rear-seated passengers also get the heated seat treatment.

The 2023 Nissan Maxima is provided with a heated steering wheel, making an icy winter morning not such a chilling experience. Not everyone feels the chill or heat the same, and the Maxima allows both driver and front seat passenger to enjoy their own environment with the Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control.

Adding further to the luxuries offered, a Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Control is available depending on your trim level. This unique feature allows convenient remote engine start-up with the climate control system responding to the weather outside and adjusting the cabin's temp to your liking before climbing in.

Nissan has thought of everything to make the driver's life as comfy and easy as possible with Maxima's available Memory System that remembers the driver's personal settings, including the seat, the steering wheel, as well as outside mirrors. Dual memory settings allow two drivers to be pampered and quickly get comfortable with their own personal settings.

Rear seat passengers will appreciate the power rear sunshade fitted to block out the late afternoon sun and restore comfort levels when things get too hot or too bright at the back.

We all seem to forget things at times, and the available Rear Door Alert gives both a visual and audible alert to advise you to check the rear seats before exiting your Maxima.

Ample Cargo Space

Cargo loading capacity is plentiful, with 14.3 cubic feet of space available inside the Maxima's trunk. Folding down the rear seats creates more usable space allowing the easy loading of longer and larger items. 

Large cubbies are available in the cabin providing convenient storage for everyday items.

2023 Nissan Maxima Exterior

The 2023 Nissan Maxima is available in 6 exterior colors that accentuate the sporty character of this full-size sedan, featuring a floating roofline and swoopy profile. With an overall length of 192.8" and a wheelbase of 109.3", the Maxima weighs in at just under 3500 lb.

Maxima's on-road manners are courtesy of its independent multi-link rear suspension along with fitted monotube shocks.

Aluminum alloy wheels are fitted across the range, with size and color treatment being trim level dependent.

Performance and Powertrain

The Maxima is available across the range with a DOHC 24-valve V-6 gasoline engine mated to an XTRONIC continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) with manual shifting mode driving the front wheels. An 18-gallon fuel tank does duty across all trim levels.

This 214 cu in power unit features an alloy block and heads, along with port fuel injection that produces a healthy 300 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and a torque figure of 261 lb-ft at 4,400 rpm.

These figures allow the Maxima to achieve a zero to 60 mph time of 5.8 sec and a top speed governed at 133 mph.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The 2023 Maxima offers excellent occupant safety, with the IIHS declaring it a Top Safety Pick, as well as the NHTSA having awarded the Maxima five stars in all safety categories.

The Maxima's impact-absorbing zone body structure combined with the high-strength cabin offers peace of mind when it comes to passenger safety. The advanced airbag system features dual-stage supplemental front airbags allied with both seat-belt and occupant-classification sensors.

Nissan's Safety Shield® 360 is a suite of standard fitment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features. These active safety features help keep you safe and include forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams. It also includes driver attention monitoring with the Advanced Drive-Assist Display keeping you focused on what's important.

All vital vehicle data is on screen at front and center on a 7" color display which includes turn-by-turn directions, any safety alerts, plus a warning for the driver if the system senses that it's time for a break from driving by monitoring steering responses. 

The Maxima is also available with driver assistance features, including Intelligent Around View® Monitor, to make your parking maneuvers easier. A virtual composite 360° bird's-eye view of your Maxima is displayed from selectable split-screen close-ups of either the front, rear, or curbside view. The system also has an on-screen heads-up alert to detect any moving objects near the vehicle.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Standard across the 2023 Nissan Maxima range is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Buttons are also provided on the center stack for quick access to more common adjustments such as audio volume and climate control. This standard system also provides remote vehicle access, vehicle monitoring, and access to emergency services. 

For parents with teenagers borrowing the family car, handy curfew alerts and speed and boundary alerts are available. The system will also automatically contact the necessary emergency services when airbags deployment is noted in the event of an accident. 

Another handy feature is to be able to track your Maxima's location if ever stolen, as well as the convenient remote start and door-lock access.

Fuel Economy

When it comes to fuel economy, the Maxima is able to combine both sporty performance with efficiency. 

The EPA gives the 2023 Nissan Maxima a rating of combined/city/highway of 24/20/30 mpg.

Nissan Maxima Trim Levels and Pricing

The 2023 Nissan Maxima comes in different trim levels and pricing. Here's what they offer.

SV

The base SV trim starts at $38,340, and all trim levels are offered with a standard limited warranty cover for three years/36,000 miles plus a powertrain warranty that covers five years/60,000 miles. 

The SV comes with standard 18" machine-finished alloy wheels wrapped in P245/45R18 V-rated all-season tires.

Interior features are front Zero Gravity Heated Seats - including an 8-way power driver's seat with power lumbar support and a 4-way power front passenger's seat. Set the mood with adjustable ambient LED lighting. Both driver and passenger get illuminated visor vanity mirrors fitted with sun visor extensions. 

Further convenience features are power door locks with an auto-locking feature and all-around power windows with the front windows being one-touch auto-up and down.

In-car infotainment offers an AM/FM/CD Audio System with an MP3/WMA/AUX reader fitted as standard with eight speakers. NissanConnect features an 8" color display with multi-touch control.

Connectivity is well cared for by way of Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and two front-illuminated USB connection ports. 

A Bluetooth hands-free phone system is on offer with a hands-free text messaging assistant, audio streaming via Bluetooth, convenient voice recognition, SiriusXM radio, Siri Eyes Free, and SiriusXM advanced audio features.

The NissanConnect services are powered by SiriusXM, featuring a Wi-Fi hotspot, convenient Nissan door-to-door navigation, SiriusXM Traffic, and Travel Link, display commander, plus the driver's 7" Advanced Drive Assist Display (ADAD).

SR

Moving up to the SR trim, starting at $43,500, LED fog lights and 19" gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels with P245/40R19 W-rated all-season tires are equipped.

A black V-Motion grille elevates the front end of the 2023 Nissan Maxima, along with black exterior accents. On-road manners are enhanced on the SR with fitted sport-tuned suspension along with tuned dampers, stiffer springs, and a larger front stabilizer bar.

A dual-panel panoramic moonroof is a standard fitment featuring one-touch open and close. At the rear, chrome quad-tipped exhaust finishers and a sport rear spoiler further elevate the SR trim level.

On the interior, the driver's seat and outside mirrors receive a dual-user memory system, and the driver sees paddle shifters fitted along with premium Ascot leather-trimmed seats with dynamic diamond-quilted Alcantara inserts.

Platinum

The range-topping Platinum trim starting at $44,450, adds equipment such as a power-adjustable steering column, leather seats with unique diamond-quilted inserts, and heated rear seats. Included is a power-operated rear sunshade and interior trim finished in Satin Birdseye Maple Wood.

Rain-sensing automatic windshield wipers assist the driver at this level.

An optional Reserve package elevates the Platinum model with the charcoal-colored headliner and two-tone leather steering wheel, plus exclusive 19" black alloy wheels.
