The Nissan Kicks remains largely unchanged for 2023 after updates last made in 2021 and continue to be a stylish, tech, and feature full-value-for-money extra-small SUV.

What's New for 2023?

The Nissan Kicks fuel-efficient 1.6-liter inline-four cylinder engine still makes 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque and is mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission.

This crossover SUV remains easy to park in congested city parking lots, and is considered kind of fun to drive even on some curvy roads. So what's new?

For the 2023 model year, some of the trim levels got added features along with some changes in pricing and increased interior space.

Interior Comfort and Cargo Space

Moving behind the driver's seat, the 2023 Nissan Kicks is fitted with a sporty, D-shaped steering wheel. Both the driver and front passenger benefit from space-age technology with the fitted Zero Gravity Front Seats. These seats offer more neutral posture support for front-seat occupants, helping to reduce fatigue. 

The five seats of the Nissan Kicks are upholstered in cloth with contrast stitching as standard or leather as an extra cost option. The fitment of heated front seats with two temperature settings adds to occupants' comfort levels, especially in the cooler States.

The Nissan Kicks offers passengers ample room all around, with a headroom of 40.4 inches and 38.5 inches and leg room of 43.7/33.4 inches for front and rear passengers respectively. 

Comfort levels are further enhanced with the Remote Engine Start System coupled with Intelligent Climate Control. This allows the warm-up or cool-down of the vehicle's interior regardless of exterior temperatures.

While this may be a small SUV, passengers won't feel cramped in this model at all. That's because cargo space has not been forgotten about, and the 60/40 rear folding seats help with loading items up to a maximum length of 57 inches. The 60/40 split allows both rear passengers plus cargo to be accommodated at the same time. Even the loading of a bicycle is made easy enough. 

With Nissan's genuine accessories, buyers can add an All-Season Cargo Area Protector, a 4 -piece All-Season Floor Mat set, and add enhanced load-carrying capability with the Roof Rail Crossbars.

 

2023 Nissan Kicks Exterior Styling 

The Nissan Kicks exterior features a unique "floating" roof design finished in gloss black along with the boldly styled V-Motion grille. This roof design was updated in 2021 and is a favorite among Nissan drivers. 

The Kicks features model-dependent equipment such as LED accent front lights, LED tail lights, and 17" aluminum-alloy wheels.

Exterior color choices for 2023 include five two-tone options with the black "floating" roof design and seven single-color choices.

The Nissan Kicks is fitted with one engine option, a 122-hp four-cylinder, normally aspirated, double overhead cam (DOHC) gasoline unit with 114 pounds of torque @ 4,000 rpm.

The maximum engine speed of this powerplant is 6500 rpm, and a sequential multipoint fuel injection is utilized. 

Transmission

A Nissan Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) with Manual Mode Select is fitted as standard across the range. The drive is taken to the front wheels.

Nissan Kicks Trims Levels and Pricing

Nissan offers three trim levels to choose from and each one comes with its own benefits.  

S Trim

Starting off the 2023 range at $20,5900, the base S trim level offers 16" steel wheels with covers, halogen headlamps, auto on/off headlamps, chrome grill, powered side mirrors, and body color inserts on the rear bumper. 

Inside, the drivers can expect standard air conditioning with microfilter, power windows, and power door locks with auto-locking. The extensive list of features also adds a rear door alert, variable intermittent windshield wipers and rear window wiper.

Driver convenience and comfort are catered for with a remote keyless entry system along with push-button ignition, a tilt, and a telescoping steering column. Drivers will enjoy a 12-volt DC power outlet, sun visors, and overhead map lights.

Further comfort features are both front driver and passenger seatback pockets, bottle holders, two cup holders, and cargo area tie-down hooks.

In-car entertainment offers a 7" color touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay® integration and Android Auto™ compatibility. The six-speaker AM/FM audio system includes Siri® Eyes Free, a Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, and streaming audio capability via Bluetooth. An auxiliary audio input jack and illuminated steering wheel-mounted audio controls round off the package.

SV Trim 

This next trim level at $22,450 adds to the S trim's exterior with silver roof rails and 17" alloy wheels. 

Luxuries fitted now include Automatic Temperature Control, Rear passenger under-seat heater ducts, Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition, along with the Remote Engine Start System with aforementioned Intelligent Climate Control.

The SV trim level features sport cloth seat trim along with orange accents and stitching, lifting the cabin ambiance alongside a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Other neat touches are the interior door handles and park brake button finished in chrome, giving it a very luxurious feel. 

Infotainment upgrades include the NissanConnect® 8" touchscreen display with the SiriusXM Radio with an included 3-month subscription.

SR Trim 

For those looking for the most expensive and premium trim, the SR trim should be your go-to. The range-topping SR trim kicks off at $24,145.

The exterior now features such extras as LED headlights, a stylish dark chrome grille, and black roof rails.

On the interior, sport cloth seats with orange accent stitching are fitted, as well as the larger 8" infotainment display coupled with the surround-view camera system. 

This is the only trim level to feature the addition of safety features like the integrated dynamics control module, which includes active ride control, intelligent trace control, and the intelligent engine braking feature.
